2 cups sugar
2 cups of shortening or ½ cup shortening and ½ cup (1 stick) margarine
4 eggs
2 cups flour
5 tablespoons cocoa
1 teaspoon vanilla
dash (pinch) of salt


Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Mix together 2 cups sugar and 2 cups of shortening. (You can use ½ cup shortening and ½ cup (1 stick) margarine)

Add 4 eggs and mix well.

Add 2 cups flour, 5 tablespoons cocoa, 1 teaspoon vanilla,

And a dash (pinch) of salt.

Pour into a greased and floured 13x 9 inch cake pan.

Bake at 350 degrees for about 25 minutes. Brownies are done when a toothpick comes out clean. Do not over bake.
